I will pick it up next weekend. I’m 6′-0″ with a 33.5″ inseam. The 57 is a perfect fit. I tried the bike out in Feb and loved it.

It actually wasn’t bad and if there wasn’t a 52 in the shop for me to test I probably would have went for it and been reasonably happy. It was only riding them back to back that made the 52 seem like a better fit for me.

I honestly don’t know (and haven’t yet asked Salsa) precisely how their bikes are measured. It has a slightly slanted top tube that can impact frame sizing. I wrote about this awhile ago at https://justanothercyclist.com/2011/03/03/how-to-measure-you-bike-frame/.

I’m 5’7″ as well and am eyeing either the 52cm or 54cm. Salsa’s sizing chart recommends the latter, but since I am unfamiliar with road bike sizing (I’ve only had MTBs the last 20 years) I’m thinking the 54 might be too big for me, since I have to consider the stem length AND bar reach.

My inseam measurement would be a bit misleading as I still ride with my toes fairly pointed down – despite repeated protests from fitter, trainer… and my calves.

At 5’7 I’ve got just over 12″ from the seat clamp to the top of the saddle. I had to swap out for a longer stem to not feel cramped, but I am definitely used to a more “road bike” riding position as opposed to more upright.

I am 5′-5″ and ride the 52cm and just had the bike fitted professionally – they told me the bike was even slightly big for me.

How are you finding the 52cm frame size, and stand-over?

Thanks

A question on sizing – how tall are you and what is your inseam?
Thanks!
